PhotoAccess invites artists and curators at all stages of their careers to submit applications to showcase contemporary photo-based art in the Huw Davies Gallery in 2019.
The PhotoAccess Huw Davies Gallery is the only not-for-profit gallery in the ACT exclusively dedicated to contemporary photo-based art. Our program aims to show the very best work by local and interstate artists, demonstrating both technical and artistic excellence, to inform and inspire our audiences. Our exhibitions and public programs encourage and extend the critical debate about contemporary photo-based art practice.
All submissions are considered by the PhotoAccess Gallery Committee and are particularly interested in proposals that;
Exhibitions can occupy one or more gallery spaces; we also encourage artists and curators to consider applying for all three gallery spaces to exhibit a large, resolved and coherent series of works.
PhotoAccess welcomes submissions from interstate and international applicants and applicants from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, LGBTQIA+ practitioners and people with lived experience of disability.
Artists and curators have the option of applying for an Artist Support Package in 2019. As part of this package, gallery venue hire fees are waived and a stipend is provided to assist with the costs associated with mounting an exhibition.
