PhotoAccess is delighted to invite entries for our 2022 Huw Davies Gallery Members exhibition, Wild Blue Yonder.
This year’s show responds to the idea of the ‘wild blue yonder’ – evoking endless horizons, soaring escape and the joy of adventure into parts unknown.
Across the ages, blue has been used when visualising something from our imagination, out of reach or the divine. As a pigment, blue is extremely rare in nature, despite being found in the environment around us – from the tranquil light blue of sky to the melancholy deep blue of the ocean. Unlike certain reds, browns, and yellows, blue pigment cannot be created from materials within our grasp. Blue represents an entirely new world beyond our own.
Emerging from a period of restricted movement, we encourage works that explore beyond our immediate surroundings and dive into the ‘wild blue yonder’.
All PhotoAccess Members are welcome to submit up to two entries to Wild Blue Yonder. All entries meeting the submission criteria will be included in the Huw Davies Gallery exhibition and the Online Gallery.
Works may be in any photographic medium, including analogue and digital print photography, film (digitised) and video or photo-sculpture, but they may not have been previously exhibited in a solo or group exhibition. Prints may be up to A3+ in size, and may not be framed. Digital moving image works should be submitted as an .mp4 file.
If you would like to enter, but are not yet a Member (or need to renew your membership), please join here.
Entries close: Monday, 13 June, 2022, 11.59pm.
Works must be delivered to PhotoAccess by Friday, 24 June, 2022, 4pm.
