The works from Found have been made as part of the 2019 PhotoAccess Dark Matter residency, experimenting with the technique of silver gelatin liquid emulsion printing.
Various natural, recycled and discarded objects have been coated with liquid silver in the process and then exposed underneath an enlarger, giving new life to each item and posing questions as to what is an object in contemporary photographic practice, where the majority of images will not be seen as anything other than pixels on a screen or device.
Life cycles are explored throughout the work. Those of the products in our consumer centred culture and the waste we create in our day to day existence, and the cycle of nature and the environment and how we interact within it and effect and alter it.
