A Construct

An exhibition by Newcastle-based emerging artist Dylan Smyth. Presenting what at first appear to be two-dimensional printed photographs of relatively mundane built spaces these images are not as they initially appear. They are in fact entirely constructed facsimiles created through an elaborate process of photographic documentation, construction and re-interpretation. In this exhibition the artist questions the photographic image as the truth it is often perceived to be, highlighting the construction, editing and perspective evident in all photographic images.
