Learn to create the most incredible, powerful imagery using app-based technologies. This course offers an introduction to post-digital photographic culture, at a time when social media and photoshop has radically transformed the meaning of images. This course is for young people who are interested in new methodologies for subverting image culture.
Students will learn experimental approaches to digital image-making, with a focus on postproduction techniques for manipulating photomedia on-screen. Along with this, participants will gain access to the PhotoAccess Resource File with heaps more information and tutorials to help you create more amazing images in the future.
This workshop is suitable for 13-17 year olds.
With lockdown in place, this workshop will be delivered exclusively online, through the Zoom platform. Invitation and link to be emailed to enrolled participants the day before.
Class will meet on Tuesday morning, where Emily will introduce you to the project, and each other, before you dive in deep to a place where technology meets creativity. Spend the day preparing your scene, take some pictures and meet again at the end of the day to see how everyone got along, as well as preparing for the next day.
Class will meet again on Wednesday morning and Emily will share her handy tips for getting the perfect shot, and how to edit your pictures to show everyone at the end of the day. Spend the day working on your images, before meeting the class for a special showcase event. Your work will be uploaded to the PhotoAccess digital platform, Photo-Stories, as an online gallery for you to share with friends and family.
Enrolments for this workshop close at 5pm on Monday 27th September 2021. PhotoAccess reserves the right to cancel the workshop if there are insufficient enrolments. If we have to cancel, you’ll receive a full refund.
PhotoAccess will happily refund or transfer workshop fees up to 7 days prior to the start date of the workshop. If less than 7 days notice is given PhotoAccess will transfer fees to another workshop but will charge a transfer fee of either 25% of the workshop cost or $50, whichever is less.
