To the budding photography enthusiast, Adobe Photoshop can seem to be a complex and daunting software package. The Photoshop Basics one-day course will help take the mystery out of Photoshop and teach how and when to use common tools and editing techniques for bringing the most out of your photos.
In this workshop, we will go through common photo editing and retouching scenarios and techniques in Photoshop. This includes an introduction to basic tools (such as select, paintbrush, eraser, dodge and burn, and crop), common portrait retouching techniques, colour adjustment and replacement, using filters and an introduction to layers and masks. Your tutor Julian Lumb will also work with students to explore their own learning priorities so they can get the most out of the workshop, regardless of their photographic aims and interests.
Photoshop Basics will take place at PhotoAccess on Saturday August 20th from 10am-4:30pm
PhotoAccess is located within the Manuka Arts Centre,
Corner Manuka Circle & New South Wales Cres,
Griffith ACT (next door to the Manuka Pool)
PhotoAccess has Mac laptops with Photoshop available for use if needed (please ensure you email us to book a laptop at the time of enrolment).
Julian Lumb has been involved in Photography and Photographic Retail in Canberra for over 17 years. Julian’s primary focus of Wedding and Real Estate Photo and Video grew from his start working at a local camera store in 2006. Here he learned a great deal about photography, camera equipment and photo printing, achieving an Advanced Diploma of Photography from Canberra Institute of Technology along the way. Realising he was missing out on the joy of relaying his knowledge of photography after leaving retail, Julian now enjoys taking up tutoring opportunities with PhotoAccess when he can.
