TheOn Location series takes you out into the real world with all its joys and visual complexities. Join local photographer and artist Rory Gillen on this next instalment of photography excursions around Canberra.
This time, participants will be getting up close and personal with nature at Jerrabomberra Wetlands. The wetlands are the result of the 1964 filling of Lake Burley Griffin. The artificially high water table has developed into a rich and dynamic ecosystem, serving as a refuge for over 170 bird species, as well as protected animal and plant life.
The workshop is timed to capture the crisp light at golden hour, just before dusk. Be introduced to reading and manipulating light, balancing natural light with flash, as well as long or multiple exposures. Discover the stoic beauty of the reserve in its wintery state, as well as any hibernating life hidden amongst the bushes.
This series is suited to enthusiastic amateur photographers who want to get more out of their camera and learn some advanced techniques of composition.
On Location: Jerrabomberra Wetlands will run on Sunday the 11th of July from 3:00pm – 6:00pm at Jerrabomberra Wetlands, Dairy Rd, Fyshwick ACT 2609
We’ll email you with further details in advance of the workshop.
