Have you recently finished the Digi Basics course and are wondering what to do next? Look no further! Field school takes you out into the real world with all its joys and visual complexities. Join local photographer and artist Rory Gillen on three separate photo walks around Canberra, and be introduced to more advanced techniques of composition, long/multiple exposures, reading and manipulating natural light, and finally balancing natural and artificial light sources, with an introduction to flash photography on location.
Class is suited to enthusiastic hobbyists who want to get more out of their camera but know the absolute basics of manual photography.
Week 1: Getting to know your camera and first photowalk, maybe arvo or morning in Jerrabomberra. Lovely light, introduction to metering and composing with light in mind. Introduction to reflectors.
Week 2: Evening walk in Fyshwick (all locations subject to change), Bring tripod, introduce metering for long exposure, multiple exposures, artificial light and sunset photography.
Week 3: Evening shoot at location TBC. Get an introduction to flash photography on location, building on your skills balancing different forms and intensities of light, see the transformative power of controlling the light itself.

PhotoAccess will happily refund or transfer workshop fees up to 7 days prior to the start date of the workshop. If less than 7 days notice is given PhotoAccess will transfer fees to another workshop but will charge a transfer fee of either 25% of the workshop cost or $50, whichever is less.
