Join us in helping a young person see their world in a new way.
For 35 years, PhotoAccess has been nurturing the image-maker in all of us, including those in our community experiencing disadvantage.
Our new program, Re-Focus, continues this wonderful tradition. It will enable twenty young people who are struggling with significant life challenges and who have little opportunity to experience the arts to take a journey of self-discovery through photography.
Will you join us in bringing Re-Focus to life? We’re looking for 35 inspiring people – one for each year that PhotoAccess has flourished – to make a tax-deductible donation of $200. Of course, less or more is also very welcome. Once we’ve raised $7,000, Creative Partnerships Australia will double our money.
Re-Focus participants, aged 13 to 18, will spend eight weeks with PhotoAccess, working in two groups to explore black and white photography, film developing and darkroom printing. Through taking on the challenge of an unfamiliar medium, they’ll build creative skills, social connections and emotional wellbeing. Some might even imagine a future in the arts.
As a supporter, at the end of each Re-Focus workshop you’ll have an opportunity to meet and talk with the program participants about their photography journey at a celebratory exhibition and reception at PhotoAccess.
Will you become one of our 35 and give $200 to help a young person see their world in a new way?
