Featuring works created during PhotoAccess’ flagship Concept to Exhibition and Concept Portfolio workshops, this exhibition brings together a diverse group of artists to explore, share and confront personal stories. Over nine months, mentored by photographer Sari Sutton and visual artist Gabrielle Hall-Lomax, the exhibiting artists venture beyond their creative comfort zones. Bringing varying levels of skill and experience to the exhibition, each artist develops their photographic voice through a new body of work expressing their unique approach to image-making.
Eleven photographers meet together over 10 months, guided by photographer Mark Mohell, to explore the potential of the photographic book. Through investigating different forms, discussing significant historical and contemporary works, and experimenting with materiality of the photobook, each author refines their visual voice. Book launch on 7th December, with books then available for purchase in the PhotoAccess shop.
This suite of exhibitions will be formally launched, at 6pm Thursday 7th December, 2023 in the PhotoAccess gardens. Please join us for a drink, a chat, and to see some wonderful art! Or if you can’t make it, be sure to catch the live stream of the opening speeches on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/photoaccess
