‘Ecologies’ in media preservation and land management
In association with her Stand – In Lab exhibition in the PhotoAccess Huw Davies Gallery, join Louise Curham for an artist talk followed by a 16mm film performance by Lucas Ihlein of Wollongong this Saturday 13 July 2019, from 3pm–5pm in the Gallery.
Since the early 2000s, Lucas Ihlein has been collaborating with Louise Curham as artist group Teaching and Learning Cinema, to research and re-enact key works of 1970s Expanded Cinema. Another major strand of Ihlein’s recent work explores the relationship between socially engaged art, agriculture and environmental stewardship. His current major projects are Baking Earth: Soil and the Carbon Economy (with Allan Yeomans); and Sugar vs the Reef? (with Kim Williams and many community collaborators).
