Code of Conduct

photo access values its members, board, staff, volunteers and visitors, and wants them to enjoy the opportunities and benefits we can provide. We welcome members’ involvement in all our activities, including the important work of deciding what photo access is and what it does. This code of conduct aims to ensure people involved with photo access are aware of their rights, and respect and act in the best interests of the association and one another.

photo access members

  • acknowledge the code of conduct on joining photo access
  • have use of photo access facilities without unreasonable distraction or disturbance
  • respect the rights, comfort and convenience of others and the property of the association
  • work for the good of photo access and support and promote its objectives
  • participate in decision making as provided by the photo access constitution
  • produce their membership card on entering PhotoAccess and agree to any reasonable request by a member of staff, volunteer or other person in a supervisory role

Board members

  • acknowledge the code of conduct on joining the board
  • work for the good of photo access and actively support and promote its objectives
  • provide leadership, act honestly and with integrity and encourage high ethical and governance standards
  • participate openly and transparently in decision making
  • respect fellow board members, photo access members and staff and their rights and points of view
  • respect decisions taken by the board and maintain confidentiality in relation to board business where appropriate and reasonable

staff

  • acknowledge the code of conduct on joining as a staff member
  • act honestly and with integrity and work for the good of photo access and actively support and promote its objectives
  • participate openly and transparently in decision making
  • respect board, association and staff members and visitors and their rights and points of view
  • respect decisions taken by the board and maintain confidentiality in relation to board business where appropriate and reasonable
  • not undertake outside work in conflict with their responsibilities to photo access

volunteers

  • acknowledge the code of conduct on joining as a volunteer
  • act honestly and with integrity and work for the good of photo access
  • respect board, association and staff members and visitors and their rights and points of view and the property of the association

visitors

  • be alerted to the code by a sign prominently displayed near the entrance
  • have use of photo access facilities without unreasonable distraction or disturbance
  • respect the rights and comfort and convenience of others and the property of the association
  • agree to any reasonable request by a member of staff, volunteer or other person in a supervisory role.
