25 October
Level: Beginner/Intermediate

Moderate to good computer skills (you use computers frequently in your normal work or home life) and some familiarity and experience with Photoshop Elements or Photoshop CS. You will have a digital camera with RAW capture mode
Description
Everybody’s talking about RAW workflows but you have just one question. What the hell is a RAW workflow and why should I use it? Many cameras include raw file processing software bundled with the camera. Unfortunately many of these programs are so clunky that they only discourage users from adopting RAW workflows. In this course we will talk about the advantages of RAW workflows over jpeg acquisition and learn how to implement a RAW workflow into your digital capture process to enhance and speed up file processing.
• What is RAW capture?
• Advantages of 16 bit imaging.
• Calibrating and understanding your camera’s light meter
• Extending your cameras dynamic range
• Optimising tonality
• Use a raw file converter
• Software comparisons and functionality—make your life easier.
• Noise, chromatic aberration and distortion corrections.
