Introduction to Digital Photography
Held on Saturdays from, 1:30 - 4:30 pm for three weeks.
Term 1 course starts on 2 August
Term 2 course starts on 11 October
From this course you can expect to get an understanding of:
• your camera and its settings
• what a digital image is and how it can be used
• what makes an effective image
• storing and using images on a computer

• How can you use digital images?
• How is a digital image captured and what happens in the camera?
• Saving and storing images
• How to set up your camera
• Basic light metering
• Basic lens use and effects
• Looking at images; what is a good image?
Week 2 - field trip
• People shots
• Landscape
• Buildings and objects
Week 3
• Review images from Week 2 field trip
• Working with the limitations of the camera
• Using the flash
• Overview and questions
• What next?

• Paper/notebook (to take notes)
• Digital camera with charged batteries and a memory card (s)
