Black and White One

Black and White One, is a course for people who want to learn about making their own images in the darkroom. It covers everything a beginner needs to know, from processing their own film, to understanding the perfect print. This course runs for 6 weeks on Tuesday evenings with a marathon Sunday session towards the end of the course. Class size is limited to 10. Cost $390/$360 (including 12 months membership) we supply your first rolls of film and paper to get you started.
Term 3 course starts on 5 August.

Class 1
• Camera skills, getting started
• Camera types and controls, film types and formats
• Bring along to this lesson an SLR camera (with instruction manual, if available)
Class 2
• B/W films and chemistry available on the market
• Chemistry mixing and film developing
• Bring your exposed film and negative sleeves
Class 3
• Printing basics 1 - making a proofsheet. Bring paper and negatives.
Class 4
• Printing - making your first print. Bring paper and negatives.
Class 5
• Continuing camera Skills: exposure and metering, aperture and shutter speeds, creative controls
Class 6
• All day printing session
